* I have emblazoned these arms according
to the blazon recorded for Brereton of
Handforth in the Visitations of Cheshire
for 1580 viz: Argent, between two bars
Sable, a cross [flory Gules, charged with
five bezants; on the upper bar] a crescent
for difference.
